new for 2024: tribal mamas worker share group
I want to actively cultivate a culture in which children are included and encouraged to join adult life! Join us on the farm weekly with your kiddos! I am looking for 3-6 women who are interested in coming out to the farm with their children and working together with me (and my employees) as a group to get work done, talk/share and wrangle our kids as we do it! You can go home with a bag of veggies too! There is so much for kids to explore on the farm as we get work done. Just like our ancestors have done it for millennia :)
Friday mornings 9a-12p ( (10 weeks: June 7 - Aug 9) (missing weeks is fine, of course, as needed, we can be flexible on start dates and if it works for some, we can continue into the fall too!)
Bring your children, lots of snacks/toys/extra clothes and be prepared for farm work in the sun, rain or shine.
Take home a bag of in-season veggies in exchange!

Food Preservation Worker Share (FULL FOR 2024)
Although my traditional worker share positions for 2024 are full, I am looking for a very special worker share. As a farmer, I really struggle trying to can and preserve much of the harvest. For 2024, I am looking for a person who is willing to take weekly or biweekly bulk harvests of my produce (see below of estimated produce and quantities) and can it, freeze it, dehydrate it and otherwise preserve it for winter. We can split the results: I harvest it, you preserve it. Both of our families can enjoy the bounty all winter! While you won’t receive a traditional CSA share, you can receive a discount on garden seedlings or a CSA share.
Please email me if you are interested in this position: winterfellacres@gmail.com
Here is a good example of estimated produce and quantities:
May- 10# asparagus; 25# salad turnips and radishes
June- 20# snap peas; 20# kale; 12 quarts strawberries
July- 20# summer squash; 30# cucumbers; 10 pints raspberries
August- 60# heirloom tomatoes; 20# sweet peppers; 100 ears sweet corn
September- 40# paste tomatoes; 10# tomatillos
October- 50# of small/irregular sweet potatoes; 40# cabbage
We are full for traditional 2024 worker share positions!
Please check out FairShare CSA Coalition for more farms that offer worker share positions.
Worker share members are required to complete a set amount of hours each week throughout the 18 week CSA growing season in exchange for their CSA share. The weekly hourly commitment is 2 hours/week for a Nibble share, 3 hours/week for a Picnic share or 4 hours/week for a Feast share for the entire 18 week CSA season. You will also be expected to join Farmer Beth for a 2 hour work trial in April or May to make sure it's a good fit (those who are returning worker shares are not required to do this).
Possible worker share member tasks include: childcare, seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, packing CSA boxes and/or other farm maintenance. You also will receive extra vegetables throughout the season in addition to your CSA share.
We allow worker share members to miss two weeks during the growing season as we know how busy life can get (you can still receive your share for a discounted rate those weeks). But we do need you to adhere as closely as possible to the agreed upon work schedule established at the beginning of the season.
